We are both happy and sad to announce the retirement of our long-standing board members, Officers, and friends, Colin Mackenzie (Dublin North, National Honorary Chairperson), and John Whelan (Dublin East & Wicklow, National Honorary Secretary). We are grateful to both for their many years of dedication to the Irish Kidney Association, and for their expertise and guidance which will always be remembered and valued. We wish both all the best for the future.
At the board meeting on Friday 1st July, the board elected new officers, and as such we would like to congratulate Eddie Flood (Westmeath) on his appointment as National Honorary Chairperson. We would also like to congratulate Marie Fowley (Sligo) on her appointment as National Honorary Secretary, and Joan Gavan (Tipperary) on her appointment as National Honorary Treasurer. We look forward to working closely with them going forward.
Other retirements from the board following this year’s AGM and elections are Michael Kiely (Cork), Kieran Murray (Donegal), and Lisa Mellon (Mayo). We would like to thank each of them for their service and dedication over the years.
New appointments to the board we would like to welcome are: Pat O’Sullivan (Cork), Jacqueline Burke (Dublin East & Wicklow), Chloe Kinahan (Dublin North), Jennifer McDermott (Donegal), and Maura Quigley (Roscommon).
