National Kidney Support Centre

Former Temple Street Patient Michaela Catches Up With Her Old Friend Brian O'Driscoll

Please Support Our National Kidney Centre!

Now that the National Kidney Support Centre on the grounds of Beaumont Hospital has been returned to the IKA, our focus is on getting it back up and running for kidney patients and their families.

A huge amount of items are required to make this happen, so a dedicated website has been launched to support the project at www.supportkidneycentre.ie.

How Does It Work?

Through this website, supporters can give an item required to get the centre back up and running, from windows and washing machines, to teaspoons and toasters. We need it all and we need your help! No matter what the budget, there will be an item to suit and giving an item is quick and easy.

Just hit the button below now to give an item and show your support.

Get Your Branch Involved

If branches would like to get involved, there is the option to fundraise as a group to give a larger item such as a couch or bed, which would be gratefully received.

Give Items Through Our Corporate Packages

If your company are interested in supporting this project, then you can check out our Corporate Giving Packages on www.supportkidneycentre.ie and choose a package that aligns with your company's values, such as sustainability or community.

Giving an item to the centre is easy – just follow these steps:

  1. Visit www.supportkidneycentre.ie and hit the ‘Start Giving’ button.
  2. Browse the items needed for the centre (or choose a category e.g. kitchen).
  3. Choose the item you would like to give and hit the ‘Give Item’ button.
  4. Click/Tap the basket icon and select ‘Give Now’.
  5. Follow the secure payment process and make your payment to IKA.

Thank you so much for your support – together let’s bring this very special centre back for all who need it.

If you need assistance in giving an item or have any questions relating to the fundraising website please get in touch.

They caught up again (in early September 2025), together with Michaela’s mother Bridie, for a heart-to-heart chat in the garden of the Irish Kidney Association’s (IKA) National Kidney Support Centre on the grounds of Beaumont Hospital

Redeveloping the National Kidney Support Centre

The refurbished Centre will include a multi-purpose community room, designed to host a wide range of activities such as education, meetings and creative workshops.
