Welcome to the Irish Kidney Association’s Munster Kidney Support Centre. We are here to make your visit to Cork University Hospital (CUH) a little easier. Close by, in a quiet cul-de-sac, the IKA’s Munster Kidney Support Centre is only 200 meters from the CUH campus, in sight of the dialysis unit.

How To Book

All accommodation bookings for the Munster Kidney Support Centre must be made directly through the Support Centre team.

The Support Centre is open:
Monday to Thursday, 9.30am to 6.00pm.
Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Who can use the Munster Kidney Support Centre?

  • A renal patient, and/or family/carer, who need accommodation pre or post-appointment/procedure in Cork University Hospital (CUH).
  • A relative or friend who needs time away from CUH, while a renal patient attends outpatients’ services in CUH, for example, dialysis.
Are the services offered at the Munster Kidney Support Centre free of charge?

Yes, there are no costs for use of the Munster Kidney Support Centre, however, donations are very welcome.

What is available during the day?

  • Communal kitchen facilities: Guests can make use of our fully equipped kitchen to cook or prepare snacks. Complimentary tea and coffee are available.
  • A place to relax: There is a TV lounge where guests can relax.
  • Quiet room and garden: For those seeking a quiet space and time for reflection, the quiet room offers privacy and tranquility, while the garden provides an additional space for relaxation.
Are pets allowed in the Munster Kidney Support Centre?

Apart from assistance dogs, pets are not permitted within the Munster Kidney Support Centre.
