36th Annual Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving Broadcast Details

The Irish Kidney Association’s 2nd virtual and 36th Annual Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for organ donors, will be broadcast on RTÉ News Channel and on the RTÉ Player on Sunday, 21st November 2020 at 2.15pm.

The inter-church Service, which has already been pre-recorded by Kairos Communications at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Dublin 4, will include a message from the Irish Kidney Association Patron President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, and contributions from the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Dermot Farrell and Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin & Glendalough, Dr. Michael Jackson.

In previous years the Service has drawn a congregation of 2000 from all over Ireland to Corpus Christi Church in Dublin 9. Due to restrictions around Covid-19, a virtual Service will be held again this year, and we hope that it will reach an even larger audience than before, from home and abroad, who wish to honour the special people who have donated their organs so that others might live.

We would like to invite you to take part in the Service of Light ceremony at home by lighting a candle in memory of deceased donors who gave the gift of life.

We are confident that this alternative Service will be truly special and appreciated by all who tune into it. A full feature on the Service will follow in our Winter 2021 Support Magazine.
