Virtual Run For A Life

Virtual Run For A Life

The Irish Kidney Association today announced that it’s 12th annual Run For A Life will be held virtually.

The event, which has been in Dublin’s Corkagh Park for the past few years and sees hundreds run to raise awareness of Organ Donation, has been moved to the virtual arena where participants can still take part whilst social distancing is still in place.

Run for a Life Race Organiser, Colin White explained, “Our annual Run for a Life has been a great day out for all of the family for over 10 years now. We always look forward to bringing together our transplant and dialysis community, their family and friends and the wider public.

It is extremely disappointing that we’ve had to cancel the physical event this year, but we hope that our loyal supporters will still get behind us and enjoy a walk, jog or run in their local area. We are looking upon this year as an opportunity to bring more people into the Run For a Life community all around Ireland and beyond with a view to developing the overall experience in future.

The Irish Kidney Association sees this charity fundraiser as a positive way to promote organ donor awareness. With so many people on dialysis and transplant recipients taking up the event it really showcases what can be achieved when we all come together. Challenge yourself and do your favoured distance more than once or see can you move up a distance before the close of the event!”

People wishing to take part can do so by donating their registration fee of €10 and submitting their race times online. Click here for more information and to register.
